August.
"I want to leave a legacy for young black creatives to follow."
“After performing alongside old Man Saxon, I felt like I needed to reform. I felt a change coming of being a more authentic version of myself.”
From being the front man of his rap group named The Wood to going solo as AJ to the present, August. has continued to reinvent himself and his style. Growing up in Lakewood CA, the church boy turned rapper has always felt like a small fish in a big pond.
While he had performed across the West Coast and in Spain under the name of AJ, his performance alongside the Netflix “Rhythm and Flow” star, Old Man Saxon, solidified his transformation into August.
Currently, August. is collaborating with LA producer/engineer, Sergio Cortez, who has worked alongside Young Thug, Prodigy, Lil B and whose work has been featured on VH1, MTV, and the NFL Network.
