August. is an American Hip Hop/R&B singer-songwriter from Long Beach, CA that switches between passionate melodic vocals and hard-hitting lyricism with an honest, emotive delivery often toted as a fusion of Bas, Jay Rock, & SiR.
Finding inspiration from the likes of Kanye West, Andre 3000, Childish Gambino, & Kid Cudi, he brings together airy melodies and a raspy vocal tone that paints a unique portrait of growing from the West Coast.
August has been featured in Mustard Magazine, Split Tooth Media, Death or Desire, & Last Day Leaf. His energetic stage presence has allowed him to perform across the west coast at venues such as los globos, voltiv sound, harvard & stone, el cid, university of oregon, and more.
Career highlights include opening for Old Man Saxon, WYNNE, STRFKR, Mr. Carmack; performing at the 2018 Willamette Valley Music Festival & the Rock Palace in Madrid, Spain; as well as having 2 songs feature in the 2022 film, Shadows in the Mirror. His breakout single, “NORF”, released in August 2020, highlights his west coast roots through a bouncy laid back ballad of his friends residing in North Long Beach. in His debut EP, Running Backwards, he worked alongside Sergio Cortez & CONNIE, two talented producers & audio engineers that have credits from the likes of Young Thug, Wale, Nav, BROCKHAMPTON, & JELEEL!
